Never got a chance to use the app as it said it was free in the App Store then was told to sign in and pay $5.79. Deceiving and should be labelled as a paid app.
Can select phrases but no dialogue is produced.
I like this app more than other translation apps because all the phrases have audio and the audio is recorded using a real translator. So you get to hear a real authentic accent and learn how to properly speak Mandarin. Also I liked the ability to switch on and off pinyin, and I liked how the app now has a new Search feature, so I can search the entire phrasebook for any subject I am looking for. Also I liked being able to “build” my own phrases and found it an effective way to see how Mandarin is constructed and what each piece of the phrase means.
